From the event website: This is a one-day conference organized annually by the Southern California Biomedical Council (SoCalBio) to showcase the strength and future of the bioscience industry in Los Angeles/Orange County and surrounding communities.
This year’s conference carries the theme “Sustaining Innovation in a Challenging Economy,” and will include sessions focused on how emerging companies can succeed when traditional sources of early stage funding are in short supply. As always, the conference will also showcase dynamic bioscience firms currently seeking capital and partnership opportunities.
Medical device, biotechnology and health informatics companies interested in presenting at the conference should submit non-confidential executive summaries to SoCalBio’s Annual Conference Company Selection Committee via e-mail to scbc@socalbio.org. Companies deemed appropriate will be invited to make presentations before the committee. Such presentations will begin in mid-June and conclude in late October.
This conference will:
- Showcase emerging bioscience firms and technologies looking for capital and seeking partnerships
- Offer keynote presentation and panel discussions to help entrepreneurs navigate an economy that is both challenging and changing
- Highlight the role of public/private partnerships in sustaining a regional culture of innovation and entrepreneurship
- Explore new and realistic bioscience commercialization business models given changes in the economy, consumer behavior and public policy
- Create an environment for rich networking and information exchange among various bioscience industry stakeholders
You can find more information at the conference website.
