The University of Miami School of Business Administration has partnered with the Florida Medical Association (FMA) to launch a new business certificate program designed to help physicians run their practices more effectively and efficiently. They now offer a Physician Practice Management Certificate Program geared toward members of small and large practice groups, solo practitioners and physicians practicing in a hospital setting. Physicians who participate in the program “will gain an enhanced knowledge of government health care policies and future trends, incentive structures, plus insurance and managed care relationships and negotiations. Participants also will develop skills to help them recruit and better manage staff, administer budgets, develop efficiencies in their spending and negotiate contracts for purchasing equipment and supplies.” Read more here.
